FOUR THINGS ABOUT A WOMAN YOU SHOULD NEVER CRITICIZE:

Have you ever tried to give a woman some constructive criticism, and IMMEDIATELY wished you could take it back?  Of course you have.  That's because there are some things guys are just NOT allowed to talk about.  Here are four topics to avoid.

#1.)  HER WEIGHT.  There's no friendly way to tell a woman she needs to lose weight.  Plus, if she DOES need to hear it, it shouldn't come from a guy.  It doesn't matter how long you've known her.  Even if you've been married 20 years, don't mention her weight.

#2.)  HER OUTFIT.  She knows more about fashion than you do . . . or at least she thinks she does.  And she probably thought long and hard about whatever she's wearing.  So just tell her she looks great, and get on with your day.

#3.)  HER FRIENDS AND FAMILY.  She's known some of her friends longer than she's known you.  So if you criticize them, she'll get defensive.  And even if SHE says she hates her family, it's not an open invitation for YOU to trash-talk them.

#4.)  DRIVING.  Guys like to pretend they're experts on certain things.  And all men think they're better drivers than their wives and girlfriends.  Obviously, most women don't agree.

--But if you start giving driving tips, it's an invitation to compare driving RECORDS.  So, you'd better be sure you've been in fewer accidents before you open your big trap.

HERE ARE NINE FOODS THAT COULD HELP YOU AVOID SWINE FLU:

It's taken months, but the swine flu vaccine will finally be available.  There should be 200 million doses by the end of the year, and another 50 million by May. Kids, pregnant women, and health care workers are first in line.

Here are nine things that can boost your immune system, and help keep you from getting the "H1N1" virus.

#1.)  WATER.  First off, make sure you're drinking eight to ten glasses of water a day, minimum.  If you're drinking less than that, it can compromise your immune system.

#2.)  YOGURT.  It has "probiotics," which are healthy bacteria that keep your intestines germ-free.  In a Swedish study, 181 factory workers took a probiotic supplement, and they ended up using 33 percent fewer sick days than their co-workers did.

#3.)  CHICKEN SOUP.  Researchers have found that almost every type of chicken soup is good for a cold.  Except chicken-flavored ramen noodles.  It's because an amino acid in chicken mimics a bronchitis drug called acetylcysteine.

--And the salty broth keeps mucus thin, the same way cough medicine does.

#4.)  OATS AND BARLEY.  When ANIMALS eat it, they're less likely to get the flu and even anthrax.  When WE eat it, it boosts immunity, makes injuries heal faster, and might even help antibiotics work better.

#5.)  FISH.  Oysters, lobster, crabs, and clams help white blood cells produce proteins that kill flu viruses.  And salmon, mackerel, and herring are rich in omega-3 fats, which help increase airflow in your lungs, and prevent respiratory infections.

#6.)  GARLIC.  An ingredient in garlic called "allicin" fights off infections and bacteria.  In a British study, people who took a garlic extract for three months were two-thirds less likely to catch a cold.

--And other studies show that garlic lowers your risk of certain types of cancer.

#7.)  MUSHROOMS.  They force your body to make more white blood cells, which fight off infectious disease.  Plus, those cells your body makes then tend to be more aggressive than normal.  That means they'll be more efficient in ridding your body of a nasty virus.

#8.)  TEA.  In a Harvard study, people who drank five cups of black tea every day for two weeks were ten times less likely to get the flu.   It's because black and green tea both have a certain amino acid that boosts the amount of something called interferon in your blood.

#9.)  SWEET POTATOES.  Your skin is your largest organ, and it covers an impressive 16 square feet.  It's also your first line of defense in the fight against bacteria and viruses.  To stay healthy, your skin needs vitamin A.  And sweet potatoes are loaded with it.  (Prevention.com)

FIVE WAYS TO AVOID IDENTITY THEFT

According to a new study by Carnegie Mellon University, what you post on Facebook or Myspace COULD help identity thieves access your bank accounts and credit cards.  Here's more on that . . . and a few other ways to avoid identity theft . . .

#1.)  DON'T LIST YOUR FULL BIRTH DATE AND BIRTHPLACE ON FACEBOOK.  You might think your Social Security number is a completely random string of digits, but it's not.  The numbers identify WHERE and WHEN you were born.

--And according to Carnegie Mellon researchers, those two details alone are enough for identity thieves to GUESS your Social Security number.

#2.)  CHECK YOUR CREDIT CARD STATEMENTS ONCE A MONTH.  Once a WEEK is even better.  And keep an eye out for SMALL charges from companies you don't recognize.

--Before identity thieves buy stolen credit card numbers, they test them to make sure they haven't been cancelled.  They'll charge a buck or two because most people won't notice.  But eventually, they'll charge A LOT more.

#3.)  IF AN ATM LOOKS WEIRD, DON'T USE IT.  Look for something called a SKIMMER right where you slide or dip your ATM card.  At first glance, a skimmer looks like it's part of the ATM.  But the card slot shouldn't stick out more than an inch from the machine.

#4.)  BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU'RE TRAVELING.  Identity thieves LOVE tourists.  So make sure no one's watching when you use your credit or ATM card.  And avoid using public wireless Internet connections unless your laptop or phone has beefed-up security protection.

#5.)  GO PAPERLESS.  You might think you're not important enough to have someone root around in your trash.  But you're WRONG.  Everyone, everywhere, is at risk.  So go paperless.  You can still access your account online.  Plus, it's the environmentally friendly thing to do.

6 FOODS THAT WILL KEEP YOU FULL
AND HELP YOU LOSE WEIGHT

1. Eggs: A recent study found that women who ate two eggs at least five times a week lost 65% more weight than dieters who didn't.
2. Almonds: A recent study found that after six months, dieters whose eating plan included almonds lost 63% more weight and 50% more body fat than dieters whose plan didn't include almonds.
3. Avocados:  Avocados aren't fat-free, but they're loaded with nutrients and a few slices will help make a salad or sandwich much more satisfying.
4. Apples: A recent study found that people who at an apple before every meal lost 40% more weight than those who didn't.
5. Oatmeal: Oatmeal has lots of soluble fiber, which slows digestion and keeps you full for hours.  Meanwhile, one study found that people who had oatmeal for breakfast and walked 15 to 30 minutes every day lost about TEN pounds in 12 weeks.
6. Peanut butter:  Peanuts and peanut butter are high in monounsaturated fats, which help fend off cravings, and research has shown that, overall, people who snack on peanuts or peanut butter lose more weight than those who don't.

The Best and Worst Brain Foods

Eating right affects your BRAIN as much as it affects your BUTT.  In fact, studies show that you can be up to 200 percent more productive if you make the right choices when it comes to your diet.  So here's a guide of the best and worst brain foods

#1.)  FOR SHORT-TERM MEMORY . . . drink coffee.  Caffeine slows down the aging process, and just one cup helps improve attention and problem-solving skills.

--DON'T DRINK . . . energy drinks or TOO MUCH coffee.  It can mess with your sleep schedule.  Sleep gives your brain time to reboot, so you shouldn't screw with it.

#2.)  FOR LONG-TERM MEMORY . . . eat blueberries.  They're in season right now.  The antioxidants in blueberries protect your brain from free-radicals and cut your risk of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.

--DON'T EAT . . . fruit that's not ripe.  It doesn't have the same nutrients.  If fruit is OUT of season, you're better off buying it frozen, since the flavor, nutrients, and antioxidants have been locked in.

#3.)  TO THINK FASTER . . . eat fish.  Salmon or mackerel are best.  The omega-3 fatty acids are the building blocks of brain tissue.  Plus, the niacin in salmon can help ward off Alzheimer's disease.

--DON'T EAT . . . full-fat ice cream.  Saturated fat can clog blood vessels and prevent the flow of nutrients to the brain.

#4.)  TO CALM DOWN . . . eat low-fat yogurt or mixed nuts.  They've both been proven to reduce anxiety by up to 50 percent.

--DON'T DRINK . . . soda.  A study by the American Journal of Public Health found that people who drink two and a half cans a day are three times more likely to be depressed or anxious.

#5.)  TO CONCENTRATE . . . eat peppermint.  The smell alone helps you focus.  And a recent study found that peppermint makes drivers more alert.

--BUT DON'T EAT . . . candy.  Sugar can actually STOP you from focusing.  So instead of eating peppermint candy, try peppermint tea or some sugar-free peppermint gum.

#6.)  TO PUT YOURSELF IN A GOOD MOOD . . . eat leafy greens like arugula or spinach.  They're packed with B vitamins, which help create feel-good hormones like serotonin and dopamine in your body.

--DON'T EAT . . . white chocolate.  It doesn't have any cocoa solids in it, so it won't boost your serotonin level like real chocolate will.

#7.)  TO SHARPEN YOUR SENSES . . . eat a tablespoon of flaxseed every day.  It strengthens your cerebral cortex . . . the area of your brain that processes sensory information.  You can sprinkle flaxseed on salads, or mix it into a protein shake.

--DON'T DRINK . . . alcohol.  It's easy to forget that alcohol is actually a DEPRESSANT.  That means it depresses your nervous system and makes you sloppy, not sharp.  And when you get drunk, it can take DAYS for your brain to recover.
