Ric Russo was born in Boston, Massachussetts but spent a majority of his formative years in living Orlando where he graduated from Maynard Evans High School - a facility that now resembles a prison. He also attended the University of Central Florida where he first scratched his itch for radio by working at the college station. Started working as a weekend jock on the Real Music Weekends at WTKS in Orlando in 1996. When the station was purchased by Clear Channel two years later he filled in as a producer and a sport talk show host on other CC-Orlando stations. Moved to the Bay Area in 2000 and spent two years as a weekend jock at 1073 'The Bay,' - now the Eagle - before joining the Oldies 104.7 FM staff in the same capacity in August 2002. Has been playing Tampa Bay's Greatest Hits ever since.
Ric lives in Palmetto - Manatee County - with his wife, three kids, two dogs and two cats. He coaches his son's little league team and helps out with his daughters' soccer clubs - I know more about baseball than soccer. Works as an assignment editor at a Tampa television station when he's not working at the Q or spending time at home with his family. Lists Cheap Trick, Dan Fogelberg, Foghat, the Steve Miller Band and the Eagles among his favorite musical acts.
