I’m a Gainesville, FL native and played and was lead singer in local bands during Jr. High and High School along with the likes of Tom Petty, Bernie Leadon and Don Felder (Eagles) and Marty Jourard (Martha Davis and the Motels). I play guitar, keyboards and drums and have loved all kinds of music as far back as I can remember.
My career in radio began as a "Pirate" radio broadcaster at 12 years old. I was shut down by the FCC / U.S. Marshall's Office for operating a radio station from my bedroom at age 15. The coverage radius was just 10 -15 miles. My parents knew I was transmitting but never dreamed their son was violating international law (Geneva Communications act of 1934).
I started part time with a local radio station while a Senior in High School. I eventually went full time before graduation. Each day I would get out of class and be on the air 30 minutes later….legally. I became a station Program Director for the first time at 18 and also did mornings and was the staff engineer.
Aside from family, Radio is truly my first love. At one time, I was doing 2 live shows (Chicago and Detroit) plus 3 prerecorded shows every day. My career has taken me from Miami to St. Louis, Sna Antonio, San Diego, Boston, and now Tampa Bay!
